With all the aggression and energy of the Britpop
and Punk eras, but with their roots steeped in 50s Chicago Blues,
Nine Below Zero deliver a volatile cocktail of Rhythm & Blues
that leaves you wanting. When this band get after it, the result
is something like the Jam playing Muddy Waters - fast, snappy and
pugnacious. On the road they quickly become an unmissable live act!
Sweat spraying, the walls running, and the audience crawling away
on all fours.
From their earliest days they have had an obsessive
following and their wide-spread recognition culminated in a sell-out
headlining gig at Hammersmith Odeon, guested by British Blues svengali,
Alexis Korner, followed by the release of a now sought after and
classic album "Live at the Marquee" and their legendary
world-wide tv-appearance on the first episode of "The Young
Ones". Their relentless commitment to their cause makes them
hardest working, most requested live band in the UK and Europe,
headlining at the Great British Blues Festival, playing to 22,000
people at a festival in France, appearances on the prestigious Rockpalast
in Germany, and routinely filling venues from Italy to Norway.

Founder member, Dennis Greaves, is now widely achknowledged
as the best blues guitarist that Britain has seen in a long while,
a frontman whose wit is as sharp as his suits. Gerry McAvoy and
Brendan O''eill, both formerly wirth the great blues legend, Rory
Gallagher, make up a powerhouse rhythm section to rival any and
together with the upfront blues harmonica supplied courtesy of "Billy
Boy" Miskimmin with a reputation to rival his nicknames. There
is the best of everything in this band and live, the combination
is lethal. They also enjoy an elite following of their fellow musicians
and have performed with Eric Clapton, sting, Ray Davies, and Brian
May. Requests to share the stage with Nine Below Zero saw Hollywood
legend and part-time blues harp player Bruce Willis, making his
debut with the band at London's most fashionable eatery, Planet
Hollywood.
1998 saw the band as roving ambassadors for their
art, taking their blues on tour in Bangladesh at the invitation
of the British Council, a prestigious honour indeed! Followed by
sell-out tours of Europe and the UK with the introduction of a new
unplugged set, which has had rave reviews from critics and supporters
alike. 1999 kicked off with a full European tour and for the first
time ever on CD "Live at the Marquee" was released mid
of October.
Commencing 2000 the touring continues in Europe and
the UK and the release of their new studio album "Refrigerator"
on Zed Records. Nine Below Zero take their blues into new era and
kick its "retro" image out the door with their unique
delivery and constantly sold-out dates.
2004 finally see's Nine Below Zero releasing a brandnew
studio-album in fall, ready to tour Europe again promoting the new
product
Always evolving and innovative in their approach,
this band are set to bring Rhythm & Blues kickin' & screamin'
into the 21st Century...
